Contemporary Rock
Well... sort of. This picture is
a composit of two pictures. The background is of the street I lived in New
York... merged with a picture Johannes Willenius took of the band . I was the lead
singer. The name of the
band was SOLID ROCK! It was not my band, "I'm just the Singer in this Rock'N'Roll
Band". We did cover versions of adult contemporary and rock songs.
Kouvola
9 July 1999
We had a
gig in Kouvola 9 July. I wasn't very happy about the gig. For some
reason, the new guy (Pasi), who played bass and the keyboard player (Kari), were the only
two that played great. I was sure the bass player would have been the one to
dampen my spirits. He had only one practice with me before the gig.
I was terribly
disappointed but I tried not to show it to the audience. I made jokes,
danced, sang, etc. I had planned to wear a new outfit (I made for the
occasion) but at the
last minute changed my mind. I'm glad I did. The black one (I
designed) was
flashier and more hypnotic. It help keep me in the mood.
Varkraus
23 July 1999
23 July we
performed in Varkraus at Captain Kokous (SP?). It was fabulous!! The Boys made me
truly proud. The place is a Pizzeria by day; bar by night; with a side business being a
health spa. The house was packed! The people were most wonderful. I
could have done a five (5) hour show.
The
pictures below were taken the same night at a different venue... can't remember
the name...sorry...

24 July was the American car
show. We performed inside a front-opened trailer. Although the crowd
wasn't very large, the weather was not very good, we gave it our all and the people
responded generously. I had the same jubilation as in Varkraus.

Hämeenkoski 7 August 1999
We were in Hämeenkoski 7
August. It is where Tommi TomTom grew up. It was a small but significant
gig. Things went well. I looked great (changed outfits twice).
Aside from getting dressed
up, it is
the response of the people that drives me to perform. As we are on this
road, the
last stop must be fame, but until then.... My fortune is in the joy of entertaining the
people, no matter how few or many!!
